Okta-Mastered people refer to accounts that are created directly within the Okta platform itself. When accounts are created in Okta, they are referred to as mastered within this identity management system, meaning that Okta is the source of truth for those user accounts. This allows for robust identity management features such as single sign-on, user provisioning, and lifecycle management to be leveraged directly from Okta.

In contrast, accounts created in Azure Active Directory, imported from LDAP, or managed through Microsoft Exchange do not originate from Okta; therefore, they would not be classified as Okta-Mastered. These external sources may synchronize with Okta but do not establish the accounts in Okta itself.
